New Brother in Christ

Church family we wanted to let you know that the angels are rejoicing as we have another brother in Christ!

Cesar started coming while the women were down here in January. We have been leading him in a 7 week salvation study and then an indepth study on baptism. Last night Cesar told us he decided to give his life to follow Christ and he also wants to follow Him in believers baptism!

Please continue to pray for us and the work down here. We have 3 new people who are beginning the same salvation study. We love you all and we are grateful for all your support. Love Preston and Courtney Goings

Christmas and Women's Scrapbooking

We are nearing the end of the year and have focussed our studies on the birth of our savior. It is wonderful to see the people in the church really excited about all the new things they are learning. We are also nearing the end of an in-home salvation study. Please pray for Rogelio and Patricia as they are learning the truth of salvation.

In just a few weeks the women of Second Baptist will be coming to Puerto Vallarta to host scrapbooking cafes for women. Begin to pray for God to do BIG things while the women are here. Also Pray for them as they prepare for the trip and pray God's will to be done in the lives of the people in Puerto Vallarta. Thank you. We love and miss you all. Merry Christmas.

October 27 event

Thank you for praying for us and the work here in Puerto Vallarta. We hosted another women's night in our home on October 27. It went great. We asked for you to pray for the women of the church to invite their lost friends and they did. There were 8 women in total and only 2 from the church! One women was from the hotel conferences we did in October.

Also thank you for praying for us as we do follow up with the hotels. We are entering into the busy tourism months and the hotels are going to be busy. Pray God would give us wisdom and creativity on how to minister to this group of people. We thank each of you for your prayers and support! We love you all. Love Preston and Courtney

The beauty of serving the Lord

In September we hosted a women's scrap booking night in our home. We had told the women of the church to invited their friends and they did. One woman invited her friend Nelli. The woman began to share with Nelli about the church and invited her to come study with us. Well this was over a month ago and we never heard from Nelli.

This Sunday guess who showed up..Nelli. A whole month had passed by before she came. It was such an encouragement and also a reminder that it takes time. We don't know who or when the people are going to come but we do know the Lord is faithful!

Please begin to pray for this woman Nelli. Also we are planning another scrap booking night for October 27th. Please pray for the women to invite their lost friends. Also please pray as we begin follow up work from the tourism conferences. Pray we will be guided by the Holy Spirit. Thank you so much for your love and support. Love Preston and Courtney Goings

October/Conference Trip

We wanted to give a quick update on the trip we had last week. We prayed for the Lord to open doors with the hotels and He did. The Lord provided 9 conferences in 5 different hotels. There was a total of 439 people who attended the conferences and we were able to tell each person about the new church. Each person also received a flier with the information about the new church.

Thank you so much for your prayers for this trip. Now we are asking that you begin to pray for the 439 people who were brought into our lives. Pray the Holy Spirit will move and work in their hearts and bring them to a point of searching for truth.

It was neat to see how the Lord worked this week and how He answered our prayers! Little by little we spread the name of Christ around the city of Puerto Vallarta and your prayer support is so important. We love you all. Love Preston and Courtney Goings

October Trip

Right now we are preparing for the October trip which will be coming down here to lead Tourism conferences for the hotels of P.V. The team will be here the first week of October.

Please pray for these requests. Pray for Preston as he is meeting with the hotel managers and setting up exact times and locations for the conferences. Pray for the people who will be attending those conferences. Pray those people will see something different is us and the members of Second who will be there. May we be a beacon of light and hope to these people. Please just pray for the Lord's will for this trip and for us to listen to Him and follow what He has in full faith.

Thank you so much for all your prayers, love and support. Love Preston and Courtney Goings

Basketball Camp in PV

Last week we had 14 people come down from Second to put on a quality basketball camp for the city of Vallarta. The group was able to love on the kids and build great relationships with them. This love immediately spread into the parents and families. By the end of the week we were able to talk with most parents and invite them to the new church. There seemed to be some families interested.

Please keep praying for these children and their families. Pray for the Holy Spirit to move and work in their hearts.

Thank you for all your prayers for these groups this summer. We really felt your prayers and we see that the Lord is on the move! Keep praying Big and we look forward to what God is going to do! We love you all, Preston and Courtney

Update from Manzanillo

La Esperanza de Manzanillo sends greetings to its brothers and sisters in Christ at Second Baptist. Much has happened over the past couple of months. The Bookfest was Awesome! A group of 16 came down and had a very busy week. They were able to fellowship and bring Christ’s love to a senior living facility as well as an orphanage in the same day. The team was also able to attend a Sunday service with their brothers and sisters of La Esperanza de Manzanillo. They were able to fellowship with three different home churches that meet throughout the week. The Thursday night group had 47 people in attendance. The team was able to go into three different schools during regular hours and hand a Bible and a book to every child there. In all over 550 Bibles were handed out. They also painted faces, made balloon animals, did a craft and had a bell concert. Every teacher was also given a Bible. These schools are in the neighborhoods where Second Baptist has been sending teams and working for a little over three years. Many of the members of La Esperanza have children attending these schools. The team was able to attend a Baptism and have a party with members of La Esperanza. God is working in so many ways, and as a result of the time invested by Second in these neighborhoods over the years, Vicki and I were given the honor of handing out graduation certificates at one of the schools. 7 weeks ago God blessed us with a facility to hold our services and meetings which is near the park where we held the first culture club in June of 2004. What an awesome thing God has accomplished through the faithful support of Second. Not more then 1000 feet from where we prayed and made our first contacts there is a fully functioning growing church. Thank you all for your support, prayers and participation. You really have made a difference here.

Salmos 150 1 *¡Aleluya! *¡Aleluya! ¡Alabado sea el SEÑOR!

Youth Trip to Puerto Vallarta

Wow!! God is constantly doing big things. We are so thankful for all the work the youth from Second Baptist did. They hosted cafes in the missions house three nights of the week. The youth used this as an opportunity to share their faith and build relationships that would lead to a Youth group starting in Puerto Vallarta.

Brad Bennett and his associate Brent put on two motorcycle and acrobatic shows in a mall parking lot. Brad and Brent were able to share their testimonies with a crowd who for most of them heard the Gospel for the first time. We had 100-200 people at each of the shows. God is awesome as we had many interested in being a part of the church and 1 new person attended the church this last Sunday.

June Trip

We had a team from the church down here June 17-22. The team was lead by Bob Roberts. This was a group of hard working and very encouraging people. At the beginning of the trip we prayed for the Lord to do Big things and He did.

This team was here to pass out information about the new church and the upcoming basketball camp. We were able to pass out around 8,500 sets of fliers! We have received several phone calls of people interested in both the church and the basketball camp.

Thursday we had 3 new people at church and this Sunday we had 2 new women as well. Thank you so much for your prayers for this team. The Lord did Big things!!

Please continue to pray for the next team coming. They will arrive Saturday and it is the youth trip. Thank you for your love and support. Love Preston and Courtney Goings
