The heartbeat of AWANA is reaching children around the world with the good news that Jesus Christ loves them and can save them from sin. AWANA is a children’s organization that provides a weeknight club open to young people from churches of all faiths. AWANA does not promote the doctrine of any specific church or denomination, but rather gives priority to the Bible as the Word of God.
Here at Second Baptist, we want to: REACH children with the gospel of Christ, TEACH children how to have a personal relationship with Christ, and TRAIN children to fill their heart with God’s Word. Each week boys and girls attend AWANA clubs where they play games, memorize Bible verses, and listen to Bible stories. From preschool through middle school, children have fun while being taught the Word of God.
We are currently looking for Parent Volunteers that are willing to serve in this ministry. If you’re child(ren) attend AWANA in either Cubbies, Sparks, or Truth & Training program, let us encourage you to volunteer. Your involvement will consist of working with the children and listening to verses. There is absolutely no preparation work on your behalf. These programs are a lot of fun to be involved with, and we would love for you to become a new addition to our group.
Cubbies will meet on Wednesday evening from 5:45 to 7:00 p.m. The Sparks and Truth & Training clubs meet on Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00pm.
You may contact Leah Capps at the church if you need additional information.
